Less is More

06-28-15

Part way through the sermon, the battery in Pastor Mike’s wireless microphone went dead and he finished the sermon with a handheld microphone. Although the handheld microphone could be heard in the sanctuary, it was not picked up by the computer that is used to record the sermons. We apologize that the sermon was not recorded in its entirety.

When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father.
(‭John‬ ‭15‬:‭8‬ NLT)

Two truths concerning fruit:
  1. Fruit is evidence of being a disciple of Jesus.
  2. This glorifies our Father.

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
(‭Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭8-9‬ NASB)

For the LORD disciplines those he loves, and he punishes each one he accepts as his child.”
(‭Hebrews‬ ‭12‬:‭6‬ NLT)

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.
(‭John‬ ‭15‬:‭1-2‬ NIV)

What God prunes from our lives:
  • Lesser activities from our busy schedules
  • Distractions
  • Unhealthy relationships

What does God want to prune from your life so that you can become more fruitful?
